From a modest house with a garage apartment, the business was originally founded by CHESTER HUNT in NORTH AUSTIN as HUNT'S MEAT MARKET in the spring of 1960 which included processing an average of 5,000 deer a season. Chester had the vision of opening a classic beer joint and kept adding on until what is now C. HUNT'S ICE HOUSE......... With classic rollup doors, pool tables, washer pits, a beer garden with picnic tables and cheap ice cold beer, Chester's vision remains today with many new faces walking in every day.
